Head to SOHO to get your feet ready for spring

SoHo displayI have to tell you about the treats I got (from me with xoxo ;)) recently. One of the treats has a guilt-free long-lasting effect: I went to SOHO in Sandton for a pedicure. You may have seen my tweet – I don’t know if I’ll go anywhere else for pedis now.

I love that I could make a booking by e-mail. Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate phone calls.

From the moment my friend and I arrived, we were treated like the international celebrities who often stop by the salon for a bit of R&R. The service was fantastic! Everyone we spoke to was friendly and helpful.

SoHo Pedi stationWe chose our polish and were led to comfortable armchairs above foot spas. The salon offers free wifi, chargers for your cables, a great variety of reading material, and you can order refreshments from any of the restaurants nearby; whether you want a smoothie from Kauai, hot chocolate from Mugg & Bean, or a caffeinated cuppa from Vida, someone will get you what you want, and it will be added to your bill.

So once you’re settled onto your chair, it’s set to massage! The soak that’s added to the warm water, turns the water to a pink gel, so it looks like you’ve got a lovely dessert at the ends of your legs.

Filing, buffing, scrubbing, massaging, hot towels to maximise the moisurising treatment, and you’re ready for the polish treatment. Our sandals were slipped onto our feet, toes separated, and polish applied. After that, you’re taken to the drying station where you can do a nice bit of people-watching.

It was such a great experience. I can’t believe I waited so long to try them out! They also have a loyalty programme that entitles you to a discount around the time of your birthday. Find them on Facebook and Twitter, and keep an eye out for special offers. Thanks to Nafisa for joining me and acting as official photographer 🙂

I probably will visit other salons, because I like to try out different places since pedis are the one beauty treatment I often spoil myself with, mostly due to practicality, but this is by far the best place I’ve been to and will happily return to them, and recommend them without hesitation. I’m already planning to take my mom for a pedi/reflexology treatment – if I can just get her to Jhb!
