Time is running out for you to make history with Sugarbird Gin. This is good gin, doing good.
How will you do that? Wait, let’s start with at the top.
Sugarbird Gin
Origin: Cape Town
Volume: 500 ml
ABV: 43%
Made from fynbos and inspired by the Cape Sugarbird, this gin’s flavours are enhanced by adding tonic.
Botanicals: extracts of juniper berries, rose geranium, orange peel, lemon peel, grapefruit peel, honey bush, Angelica root, rooibos, cardamom, Cape May (sourced from the slopes of Table Mountain), coriander and a tiny dash of cinnamon.
This is how you can make a difference, one cocktail at a time.
With the craft gin movement on the rise in South Africa, the team behind Sugarbird Gin saw and opportunity to empower local entrepreneurs.
For every 1 000 bottles sold, an aspiring entrepreneur (the group will be made up of 50% female entrepreneurs and 50% previously disadvantaged entrepreneurs) will receive a bursary to a further develop their ideas and actually launch their business.
Sounds great, right? So get in on the action before the end of October 2017. Head over to their crowdfunding page, make your pledge – R75 all the way up to R900 000 if you’re feeling generous 😉
I haven’t tried Sugarbird Gin myself – yet, and will update this post once I have. Leave a comment below if you’ve tasted it.
