Vodka is often part of some potato joke, but I feel like more brands I’ve come across is distilled from grain – corn, or more often, rye. Regardless, I thought it might be time to share some vodka-based cocktail recipes. But not the classic Martini – that can only ever be made with dry gin. Don’t @ me.

Classic Cosmopolitan

INGREDIENTS
45 ml vodka
45 ml cranberry Juice
15 ml Triple Sec
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour ingredients into ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Strain into chilled martini glass and garnish with lime.
Riviera Martini

INGREDIENTS
45 ml vodka
30 ml pure water
1 spoon preserves
(strawberry, peach or raspberry)
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients into a large glass with 6 ice cubes.
Stir vigorously and pour into a martini glass – ice and all!
Serve with a stirrer.
Apple Cider

INGREDIENTS
30 ml vodka
60 ml apple cider
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour ingredients into large ice filled glass and stir.
Pour it all into a wine glass, and garnish with cinnamon stick.
(This one feels perfect for the festive season)
Irish Creamsickle

INGREDIENTS
30 ml vodka
60 ml Irish cream liqueur
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour everything into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Serve in a snifter glass.
Classic Bloody Mary

INGREDIENTS
45 ml vodka
90 ml tomato juice
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine ingredients in a large ice-filled glass and stir.
Pour everything into highball glass and garnish with a celery stick.
(I feel this can also be seasoned to taste.)
