Just got home from a day of errands and bonding: got the tyres and bulbs for my car, and went to a creative/craft expo with my mom on the other side of Johannesburg – she doesn’t do driving in Jhb. After that I took her to see my new place, picked up my migraine meds, and finally I’m home to pack up the last of my stuff for the move tomorrow.
I’m not sure why, but this song is stuck in my head – sure it’s by Fun. which is a good reason for the stickiness. But the bit about “for once I feel like I’m right where I belong” is what I’m really hoping for once I settle in. And I do love the acoustic version so much more. I once knew a guy who had a saying a friend and I have made our own: Why ask why, when how is so much better? Or when, I suppose. “Why?” is like “if only” and “What if” and only causes wrinkles and grey hair – I’ve just decided that. So enjoy my little earworm; I’ll be listening to a book while I work, since I’m still nine books behind schedule on my Goodreads challenge.
