This year I set out to read 100 books. I ended up reading 123. If you want to see the full list of books I read this year, you can check it out here.
Some books that stood out for me were:
- Wonder by R.J. Palacio
- The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
- Noah Barleywater Runs Away by John Boyne
- The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
- The Humans by Matt Haig
- Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
- The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
I started a few books but gave up after a bit; I won’t force myself to read books I don’t feel a connection with after the first 30 minutes – life is too short, and my to-be-read list too long. And both John Green and Stephen King can do no wrong, as far as I’m concerned 🙂 And of course there were a few lovely series included: The Parasol Protectorate, The Enchanted Series, The Accidental Series, more Darynda Jones, more MaryJanice Davidson (the books seem to be improving again marginally, but Betsy should get over this and MJ wrap up the series).
My aim for next year is 120 books. For now I’m catching up on a bit of series and movies, and clearly also avoiding writing blog posts.
Later this week I’ll share a great reading challenge I discovered for 2015. How was 2014 for you in terms of reading? What was your favourite book(s) of the year?
