About a year ago I was sitting under the avocado tree at the center of Happy.Me in Greenside. I was with Nafisa, who on that day not only introduced me to what has become my favourite non-alcoholic refreshment, but also helped me set up Syllable in the City as you see it now. It was a few weeks before my birthday, and part of her gift to me was this beautiful theme. Maybe that is why I truly equate the happy yellow, the happy little character and bubble tea with an inner sunshine only simple pleasure can provoke.
This morning I strung up stars, angels, and bells at the very same Happy.Me. I feel very fortunate to have been chosen as a brand influencer a few months ago. I was surprised and delighted that my mom also enjoys the mixology experience – the whole bubble thing isn’t everybody’s cup of tea.
It is also one of the things we agree my grandfather would’ve enjoyed immensely. He always liked trying out unusual things.
If you pass by the Greenside Happy.Me this December, get a drink, sit under the tree, make a wish – on the bubbles in your tea or the stars hanging from the tree. You’re sure to find happiness in 2015 if you do 😉
