URL ABCs for the past year

I found this on Dave’s blog, and thought it’s a pretty cool way to wind down for the year.

The object of this exercise is to clear your address bar in your browser and type in your ABCs, keeping in mind that you only enter one letter at a time, and then post the corresponding address under the specific letter of the alphabet!

Done mine and this is what came up:

a. analytics.google.com – because work, and I quite enjoy doing my monthly reports 🙂
b. bitly.com – url shortner I use to share blog posts to other social media platforms
c. cosmopolitan.co.za – online magazine and one of the many sites I enter competitions on frequently
d. dailyinfographic.com – I love infographics; they’re handy for so many topics
e. essentials.co.za – another online magazine and competition source
f. fnb.co.za – because money obsession/frustration
g. goodreads.com – keeping up with what others are reading. Also, turning down my personal challenge a notch next year. Pretty sure I’ll reach this year’s 140 book goal (mostly on audio, I’ll admit), but there were times I thought I won’t make it.
h. hootsuite.com – because work; it’s very handy
i. itweb.co.za – research, mostly for work/client
j. jnpr.co.za – it’s always good to see who supports the SITC brand and learn more about them 🙂
k. kalahari.net – online shopping when you urgently need something. Sometimes they live up to expectations. Not my online retailer of choice, but the last one used, apparently.
l. linkedin.com – work, networking, staying up-to-date with industry news
m. mashable.com – research for work and clients
n. nashua.co.za – again, work
o. orange.com – when I need to drool over some really cool gadgets
p. plus.google.com – as I’m learning more about this platform and using it more often, it’s starting to grow on me
q. qz.com – a source of content for clients
r. rafflecopter.com – very handy app when you’re running social competitions
s. syllableinthecity.co.za – no idea why this is on the list 😉
t. twitter.com – work and fun
u. udemy.com – need to keep the mind sharp and learn more about stuffs!
v. visual.lly – more infographics
w. women24.com – I don’t feel like I need to explain this one
x. uhm…
y. youtube.com – work/fun, research, etc.
z. zomato.com – because FOOD! User-generated content means you’ll always get an honest opinion 🙂

Let me know if you do this too – it’s always interesting to get a glimpse into how other people spend their time online.
