Review: Home Cooking

Home Cooking by Herman Lensing is a title sent to me by the wonderful people over at Penguin Random House. I have to be honest; I outsourced this read to the family that cooks my daily dinner. While William does most of the cooking, the gorgeous gilded pages lured Louisa to explore the recipes and stories in Home Cooking.

Thoughts on Home Cooking

I very seldom do any cooking but when I started reading Home Cooking, I was unable to put the book down and read it from cover to cover. There are more than 80 recipes and each one is easy to follow with most of the ingredients that you will find in your pantry.

Home Cooking has really inspired me to cook and bake and it is a must-have recipe book. I could visualise the memories that reflect Herman’s love of food and people. The recipes are down to earth and unpretentious and I cannot wait to try out each and every recipe except for the tongue recipe which I do not eat but I will replace the meat with corn beef!

I can confirm we’ve already enjoyed a few of the recipes Louisa prepared from Home Cooking – Syll
